E07 - Building BoomTown: A New Community Model for all Ages

Do boomers really want to retire and live as the prior generation? Gensler's three-year research studies indicate no. This presentation shares the content and longevity research gathered with The Milken Institute’s Center for the Future of Aging, AARP, Georgetown University’s Aging Well Hub, Phillips, Generation United, and others, to illustrate the logic behind this thinking. Research has informed our belief that intergenerational living is a significant positive contributing factor to longevity, and the design of these communities is critical. A strategic approach to changing perceptions and lifestyles will lay the groundwork for multiple successful models. Presenters will highlight examples of communities using this context to reframe senior living design.
