E23 - Designing for Mind, Body, and Spirit: A Post-occupancy Evaluation
Laurel Lake Retirement Community, a premier not-for-profit CCRC, took the initiative to reposition its town center into a new center for healthy living. This project has transformed Laurel Lake’s active lifestyle amenities that were originally designed to serve a much smaller community. Perspectus Architecture is conducting a post-occupancy evaluation (POE) to measure the impact of the new health and fitness facilities and amenities on the revitalized community in support of the seven dimensions of wellness. Presenters will share Laurel Lake’s successful active aging transformation from the perspectives of project goals and objectives, design response, POE criteria and approach, and measured outcomes.
