E29 - Compliant Today but Not Tomorrow: When the Code Changes But Your Building Hasn’t
Maintaining regulatory compliance is a paramount concern to operators of long-term care programs, whether it be for direct patient care or facility safety. Everyone can agree that building safety is important. But what happens when regulations, not your building, change and you are left with a non-compliant building? One of the many challenges in passing federal- and state-level inspections include fulfilling minimum requirements of the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101). This session will discuss the recent changes to regulations that affect existing facilities through the eyes of real-life case studies and possible solutions when regulations require more of existing facilities than in the past.
